Prosecutors uncovered corruption schemes in the army worth hundreds of millions of hryvnias.
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, prosecutors have discovered serious financial crimes in the defense sector. According to preliminary information, the state has suffered losses amounting to hundreds of millions of hryvnias. Officials from the Procurement Department of the Ministry of Defense, commanders of military units, and other individuals are under suspicion. The total amount of losses exceeds 248 million hryvnias.
Crimes in Defense Procurement
One of the cases concerns the purchase of low-quality equipment for the Armed Forces, which led to losses of over 230 million hryvnias. Another investigation is related to unsuitable software, which cost almost 2 million hryvnias. Prosecutors have already announced suspicions against 16 individuals and submitted indictments against 12 of them to the court.
Impact on the Country's Security
The consequences of these financial crimes have negatively affected the provision of military supplies and the overall security of the country. During the investigation, facts of supplying low-quality goods, food fraud, and other violations that caused significant harm to Ukraine were revealed.
