Rising Costs for Breweries
Recent studies have shown that pubs could face an increase in business rates, resulting in additional costs of approximately £150 million. Industry representatives warn that businesses will be forced to spend more, even though the rates were lowered in the budget.According to The Sun: The British Beer and Pub Association calculated that average costs will rise by £3,867 for a typical small pub.
“The rise in rates will impact the instability in our sector, and this is the biggest burden we have faced in recent years,” industry representatives claim. The results of this analysis raise serious concerns among pub owners, as the increase in costs could negatively affect their profitability and, as a result, their pricing policies. This, in turn, could impact customer attendance and the overall beer market in the country.
