Rada simplifies land allocation for the construction of mobile network.

The Verkhovna Rada speeds up the construction of mobile network base stations
The Verkhovna Rada has adopted bill No. 9549, which allows for the acceleration of the construction of mobile network base stations. According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, mobile operators will now receive land for rent to build mobile networks twice as fast as before. Previously, this process took about six months, and now this period will be reduced to three months. This will contribute to providing stable mobile communication for residents of remote areas and 4G coverage along highways.
The bill will also accelerate the restoration of communication in de-occupied territories. The Ministry of Digital Transformation states that many mobile communication stations cannot be used due to damage, so operators need land plots for building new ones. Thanks to the new law, operators will be able to place temporary communication facilities without the risk of dismantling them, as well as build new base stations faster and restore communication and the internet for Ukrainians.
This initiative is one of the priority objectives of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine until 2030. The goal is to provide 98% of the population with high-quality mobile communication in all corners of Ukraine.
The signing of the bill by President Volodymyr Zelensky is now expected.
In addition, the National Commission for the Regulation of Electronic Communications (NCREC) has approved the Procedure for the deployment of low-power base stations, which is a step towards the implementation of the European regulation on Small cells in Ukraine. According to NCREC, this will improve access to the operator's network where there were previously limitations due to insufficient network capacity or weak signal, and enhance service quality.
Ukraine continues to implement European systems as part of its path to the European Union. The government has made a decision that will become part of the roaming 'visa-free' process with the EU, improving access to the operator's network for subscribers.
