The Verkhovna Rada dismissed Shmyhal from the position of Minister of Defense: who will become the new head.
According to ТСН: The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made a decision to dismiss Denys Shmyhal from the position of Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
According to the information from deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, 265 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada voted 'for'.
New Candidate
The candidacy of Mykhailo Fedorov, who previously held the position of Minister of Digital Transformation, is planned to be considered for the position of Minister of Defense.
Changes in the Government
Recall that after meeting with the current Minister of Defense, President Zelensky announced that Shmyhal is appointed as Minister of Energy and Deputy Prime Minister. He thanked Shmyhal for his efforts in ensuring the defense capability of Ukraine.
'This kind of systematic approach is what Ukrainian energy needs right now. It will allow for the rapid restoration of what was destroyed after Russian attacks and ensure the stable development of the industry for the needs of Ukrainians,' Zelensky emphasized.
Changes in the SBU
Moreover, it was previously reported that the Verkhovna Rada Committee approved the president's submission to dismiss Vasyl Maliuk from the position of head of the SBU. The final decision is to be made by the parliament.
Changes in the government, particularly in the Ministry of Defense, indicate the continuation of reforms and the adaptation of the management structure to the challenges of the times. The president emphasized the importance of a systematic approach in the work of new ministers to ensure stability in strategic areas such as defense and energy.
