Prostate Cancer: Statistics and Causes

According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, women make up two-thirds of all cancer patients, but men are more likely to die from cancer. This is a serious problem, especially considering that prostate cancer has for the first time surpassed lung cancer in the number of cases.

Professor Oleg Nikitin reports that according to the National Cancer Registry data, women suffer from cancer 64% more often, while men only account for 36%. However, the number of cancer cases in men and women does not significantly differ. The problem is that men are more likely to die, particularly from prostate cancer.

'33% of primary patients were diagnosed in an advanced state, essentially at the beginning of the fourth stage of the disease, when it is difficult to provide effective care. This is also confirmed by the fact that every 10th patient died within a year of diagnosis.'
The situation is especially alarming in border regions: nearly half of the patients from Chernivtsi region and 40.3% from Zakarpattia region have prostate cancer at advanced stages.

Experts emphasize that insufficient preventive activity and lack of screenings contribute to the late detection of cancer. Therefore, it is important to start screening at the age of 45-50 to detect diseases at early stages.

Raising awareness about prostate cancer and early detection of diseases are key tasks for improving the situation in the fight against oncology.

This article highlights the issue of prostate cancer, which is one of the main causes of oncological diseases. It emphasizes the importance of prevention and timely detection of the disease to improve the situation in the fight against these ailments.

Thus, key aspects remain timely diagnosis and effective prevention.
