Roberts, best known for his time at Tottenham where the team won the FA Cup and UEFA Cup twice, aims to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. His daughter Holly is walking 5 km daily, and he is trying to support the charity effort as much as he can.
On X he wrote:
“I am undergoing treatment with radiotherapy and brachytherapy for prostate cancer and I want to raise funds for this charity. This October, my daughter will be walking 5 km every day, and I will also try to do as much as I can. Please donate to this cause.”
On the Prostate Cancer site, Holly expressed:
“My dad Graham Roberts is currently undergoing treatment with radiotherapy and brachytherapy for prostate cancer. Prostate cancer takes one man's life every 45 minutes — that's half a football match. But it doesn’t have to be this way. This October I am joining Prostate United, walking 5 km every day with football fans to help save men's lives. Dad will also try to walk weekly after treatment.”
“Support me in helping to fund research that could save men's lives and their families affected by this illness. Thank you.”
In addition to his time at Spurs and Rangers, Roberts also played for Chelsea and West Bromwich. After retiring from playing, he remained in football, coaching the Nepal national team.
He is also known for defeating Celtic in the Scottish Cup with the Clyde team.
