Real Madrid fired Alonso: due to the failure to transfer the main target.
Changes at Real
According to The Sun: The Real Madrid club has decided to sack Xabi Alonso six months after failing to sign their main transfer target in the summer. Alonso was looking to find a key midfielder in the style of Toni Kroos, who spent ten years with Los Blancos before retiring in 2024.
The best candidate for this role was chosen to be Martin Zubimendi, who at that time was playing for Real Sociedad, as Alonso considered him crucial for stability in the midfield.
“We are confident that we can return to winning and once again become one of the best teams in the world,” said the club president.
Currently, Real Madrid is actively searching for a new coach who can realize the team’s ambitions on the international stage. This change could be pivotal for the club's future, as an effective coach can not only improve results but also restore player confidence. Ahead of new challenges, the team hopes to find a leader who can take them to the top of European football.
