Registration of New Cars in Ukraine: Mandatory Conditions and Documents.
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, owners of new vehicles are required to register their cars at the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to use them legally. The registration process won’t take much time but guarantees the legal use of the car on the roads.
According to the current legislation, after purchasing a vehicle, the owner must undergo state registration within 10 days. This can be done at any territorial service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, without being tied to the place of purchase.
Documents for Registration
To register, you need to provide:
A document that proves identity;
An identification code;
A document that confirms ownership of the car (purchase agreement, customs declaration, etc.);
A certificate of conformity of the vehicle.
All information about the necessary documents is available on the website of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Steps for Car Registration
Appointment for the service online or a personal visit to the service center.
Verification of documents by administrators.
Entering vehicle data into the Unified State Register of Vehicles.
Issuance of a registration certificate and license plates.
Temporary License Plates
When purchasing a new car at a dealership, you may be provided with temporary red license plates. They will allow you to reach the service center to complete the registration. Once the car is registered, you will need to obtain permanent license plates.
Keep in mind that using a vehicle without state registration is prohibited and may lead to administrative liability.
Complying with all the rules and obligations when using your car will help avoid problems with the law in the future. It is essential to be aware of the requirements and rights of vehicle owners to ensure their legal status on the roads.
