Over 700 Drones Launched in a Single Day: Russia Sets New Record in Aerial Assault.
Massive Drone Attack on Ukraine
According to UATV: Between the evening of March 31 and the evening of April 1, Russia launched more than 700 attack drones against Ukraine in what stands as one of the largest sustained aerial barrages of the conflict. On April 1 alone, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, 361 drones were recorded, including approximately 250 Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
Ukrainian air defense forces operated at heightened readiness, deploying fighter jets, ground-based systems, electronic warfare tools, and interceptor drones. These efforts resulted in 345 drones being shot down or electronically neutralized. Despite this, 14 strikes hit their targets, leading to casualties.
Impact of the Attacks
In the Zaporizhzhia region, four people were wounded as a result of the strikes. These events underscore the persistent threat posed by unmanned aerial systems and the ongoing challenges Ukraine faces amid the current military situation.
The large-scale drone offensive signals an escalation in hostilities that continue across Ukraine. These developments come against a backdrop of intensifying conflict, highlighting the critical role of effective air defense operations. The situation in the country remains tense, and such attacks carry serious consequences not only for military personnel but also for the civilian population.
