Holiday Spending on Alcohol During the Festive Period

Consumers plan to spend less money on alcohol during festive celebrations due to a reduced level of confidence. Nearly four out of ten people expect to drink less than usual at Christmas, and among young people aged 18-34, this figure reaches almost half.

According to The Sun: According to Barclays' report, among those who plan to reduce their alcohol consumption, 27% are ready to significantly cut down on the number of drinks. This indicates an overall trend of saving that is affecting consumers during the holiday season.

"We are seeing a change in consumer behavior as they become more cautious with their financial matters," the report states.

In the context of rising prices and uncertainty, many people are opting for more budget-friendly options for entertainment during this time of year. These changes in consumer sentiment reflect a wider economic context where people are trying to control their spending and maintain financial stability.
