According to The Sun: Claire Swanny, former girlfriend of Ricky Hatton, held back tears as she bid farewell to the boxing legend.
Today, thousands gathered in Manchester to honor the beloved boxer at his funeral.
EPAClaire, who had an eight-month relationship with Ricky last year, appeared emotional during the service.
Following his death, Claire dedicated a heartfelt tribute, writing:
“I needed a few days to process this terrible news about my dear friend Ricky. My thoughts are with his family, especially his children Campbell, Millie Fern, and Layla, his granddaughter.”
“Ricky, you were the people's champion. We loved and cherished you. I will always love you.”
Hatton and 'Coronation Street' star Claire appeared together on 'Dancing On Ice' in 2024 and began dating secretly after the show.
The couple had been friends for 25 years before their relationship turned romantic.
They initially dated in secret, enjoying a holiday in Tenerife before going public with their romance.
However, it did not last long, and in December 2024, it was revealed that their relationship ended after eight months.
After the breakup, Claire noted:
“We are still friends, we were friends. We dated, and now we are friends again. All is well.”
The tragic death of Ricky Hatton
Before his tragic death, Claire supported his return to boxing by posting a heartfelt message.
The actress shared a video announcing the return of the 46-year-old boxer to the sport, stating:
“This is fantastic.”

Unfortunately, Ricky was found dead in his home in Manchester on September 14.
Tyson Fury, Liam Gallagher, and Rooney were leading mourners at Ricky Hatton's funeral, as the procession went through Manchester today.
Thousands of fans watched the boxer's last journey through his hometown.
The funeral procession began at 9:45 am from his local pub, Cheshire Cheese, near his home in Hyde.
In honor of Ricky’s extensive collection of memorabilia, the procession was led by a Reliant Regal, known from 'Only Fools and Horses.'

Ricky's brother, Matthew, was also spotted in the procession, which was followed by floral urns inscribed with 'Hitman.'
On his last route, Ricky passed by his gym and the AO Arena before reaching Manchester Cathedral at noon.
There will be a memorial service there, during which thousands of fans will gather on the streets in support.
The ceremony will conclude at the 'Etihad' stadium – home of Ricky's beloved football team, Manchester City.
Ricky will be remembered as one of the most significant boxers in British history of his generation.
