Tribute to Father

Campbell, who trained with his father during his boxing career, wrote on Facebook:

“A tough day on Friday, but what a beautiful send-off.”
“Thank you so much to everyone who came out on the streets, came to the cathedral, decorated businesses along the route, and showed love for my father. He would be very proud of this, as would the whole family.”

Ricky, who was 46, was found dead in his home in Gee Cross, Greater Manchester, on September 14.

During the service, Campbell mentioned:

“Father and son never had so much in common. Our looks, music, sense of humor, love for Man City, pub outings, playful karaoke songs.”

Campbell also said:

“I’m so proud of my father that it’s hard to put into words, not just his boxing career and unique fan base, but how happy we all were when we were together.”
“I can’t explain how much I will miss you, dad. I’m shattered that we can’t make new memories, but the ones we have, I will always cherish.”

In the conclusion of his speech, Campbell emphasized:

“I will try to make you proud, now that you are at peace. I love you very much.”

The investigation into Ricky’s death will begin on Thursday at the Stockport Coroner's Court.
