40 thousand veterans applied to the Employment Service: what assistance they received.
According to inkorr.com: Significant changes are taking place in the labor market in Ukraine. This was reported by the head of the State Employment Service, Yulia Zhovtiak, emphasizing that the government is particularly focused on supporting veterans and developing self-employment. Workers are key figures in this process.
"The number of appeals from veterans is noticeably increasing. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, about 40 thousand defenders have contacted the Employment Service."
This year, 40 thousand veterans have applied to the Employment Service, and more than half of them received assistance in the form of employment, training, or grants for starting their own business. The rest have already adapted and found jobs.
Since the beginning of the year, the State Employment Service has provided assistance to more than 520 thousand citizens. Of these, 75% received the necessary support: 300 thousand found jobs, 80 thousand underwent training, and 10 thousand received grants for the development of their own businesses.
Labor market shortage
According to Yulia Zhovtiak, the structure of the labor market has changed. If previously employers had a wide choice of candidates, now there is a shortage of personnel, despite the fact that there are 240 thousand vacancies on the portal.
Changes in the labor market indicate a gradual evolution of approaches by the state and business to support workers, veterans, and the development of small businesses. This may initiate new processes in the field of employment in Ukraine and improve working conditions for many citizens.
