According to The Sun: River Island confirmed its first major closure in a wave of 33 stores shutting down across the UK.
The first River Island store on Princes Street in Edinburgh will close its doors permanently next month. This is one of the 33 stores closing across the country. A notice has appeared in the window of the central store informing customers that the doors will be closed on Friday, September 5th. This decision is part of the company's strategy to close 33 stores by 2026, which will lead to the loss of 110 jobs. Regarding the Princes Street store, it had always been planned to close in September. The other 32 stores will cease operations by January.
