Electricity outages sharply increased: the reason named.

The block of the South Ukrainian nuclear power plant went out of order. Because of this, the volume of power outages in Ukraine sharply increased since yesterday. This was announced by the director of the Energy Research Center, Alexander Kharchenko, citing two unnamed sources.

Another accident at the South Ukrainian NPP. Two extra disconnection queues from Ukrenergo today (the statement appeared at 23:17 on September 3, – «Glavkom»), because the 600 MW power unit reduced output. Most likely, it will go into repair next week», – the message says.

Alexander Kharchenko recalled his forecasts about the normalization of electricity supply. High-voltage networks are gradually being restored, but «surprises from Energoatom cannot yet be predicted».

On September 3, there were already emergency power outages in Kyiv and 14 regions. Outage schedules changed several times that day.

Earlier, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Member of the Supervisory Board of «Ukrenergo» Yuriy Boyko said that it is still too early to talk about the consequences of the massive attack on the power system that occurred on August 26, regarding future power outages. Winter preparation plans also need to be adjusted.

President Zelensky emphasized that the protection of Ukraine's energy facilities is being developed at different levels. He stressed the importance of keeping the details of the protection secret from the enemy. The head of state noted that he does not like energy PR and will not allow disclosure of the enemy attack targets.
