Investigation Uncovers Business Network of Timoshenko's Husband and Daughter.
Family Ties: The Business Network of a Ukrainian Politician's Relatives
According to Novyny.live: An investigation by YouControl has revealed that the family of Ukrainian MP Yulia Timoshenko is connected to 15 Ukrainian companies and one Czech firm. These business interests span multiple sectors, shedding new light on the family's activities, particularly through the involvement of Timoshenko's husband and daughter.
As of January 2026, Yulia Timoshenko's husband, Oleksandr Timoshenko, is registered as a sole proprietor (FOP) offering consulting services. This forms part of a broader network that includes businesses run by their daughter, Yevheniia. She operates her own FOP specializing in real estate rentals and is a co-owner of eight companies, most of which are in the property sector. Such family business networks are a focal point for anti-corruption watchdogs in Ukraine, where political transparency remains a key public concern.
Extended Family and Corporate Structures
The business structures extend beyond Oleksandr and Yevheniia to include other relatives. Notably, the husband and son-in-law of Yulia Timoshenko's aunt are linked to companies involving Yevheniia. The son-in-law, Artur Chechotkin, is a participant in two companies and was formerly a shareholder in 'Ukrbudinvestbank'. The majority of the Timoshenko-linked companies are in real estate, but the portfolio also includes a restaurant, a book publishing house, and a perfume manufacturer.
Consequently, the family's business connections are not limited to the personal activities of its members but form a complex corporate network spanning various economic sectors. This investigation underscores the critical need to analyze the financial and business ties of politicians and their families to ensure public accountability.
The significance of this investigation lies not only in exposing the Timoshenko family's business interests but also in the broader context of transparency within the Ukrainian political environment. - source
Public and media scrutiny of the links between politicians and their business structures is intensifying, which can impact trust in state institutions. Investigations like this one can act as a catalyst for implementing new standards of transparency and accountability in the country.
