Russian Strikes Hit Donetsk and Kherson Regions, Causing Fatalities and Widespread Damage.
Strikes on the Donetsk Region
According to UATV: Russian military strikes in the Donetsk region on February 12, 2023, resulted in civilian casualties and extensive damage to residential areas. Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that one man was killed and five others were wounded in the shelling. The attacks caused destruction across multiple settlements in the region. These assaults are part of a broader pattern of intensified attacks on civilian infrastructure in eastern Ukraine.
- In Zolotyi Kolodiaz, five residential buildings were damaged.
- In Mykolaivka, 20 private houses, two apartment blocks, and a power line were hit.
- In Starodubivka, one person was injured.
- In Malynivka, seven houses and a gas pipeline were damaged.

Attacks on Kherson
Separate attacks on the city of Kherson and the surrounding region wounded eight people. Alexander Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, detailed significant destruction from the strikes. The southern city, liberated from Russian occupation in late 2022, remains under constant threat of shelling.
- In Kherson, six apartment buildings and 14 private houses were damaged.
- A gas station and a gas pipeline were destroyed.
These incidents follow earlier attacks on the Kharkiv and Sumy regions, which left 13 people injured.
The ongoing conflict in Ukraine continues to inflict severe human and infrastructural costs. The increasing intensity of shelling indicates a worrying escalation in violence within regions that have already suffered profound damage.
The situation demands an urgent response from authorities and international organizations to ensure civilian safety and restore destroyed facilities.
