Russia attacked gas infrastructure: what are the consequences for the heating season

According to inkorr.com: On the night of October 5, 2025, the Russian Federation attacked the gas infrastructure of Ukraine, delivering artillery strikes on civilian facilities that provide gas to the population during the heating season.

'The attacked facilities have no military significance. These maniacal terrorist strikes are aimed solely at depriving Ukrainians of gas, heat, and light.' - said the chairman of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Serhiy Koretzky.

As a result of these attacks, important infrastructure facilities have been damaged and are now being restored by specialists from the Naftogaz Group and rescuers. The elimination of the consequences and assessment of the damage caused is ongoing.

Response of the Ukrainian army

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that radio technical troops detected and accompanied 549 enemy air attacks. The main intense strike fell on the Lviv region, where 478 attacks were recorded. Air defense successfully shot down and suppressed 478 aerial targets.

The Ministry of Energy also assessed the damage from the attacks and warned the population about possible fake 'power outage schedules.'

Thus, Ukraine again becomes a target of aggression from Russia, which aims to deprive Ukrainians of gas and heat. Ukrainian services are actively working to restore the destroyed infrastructure and ensure the safety of citizens.

This situation highlights the threatening behavior of the aggressor, who continues to try to destabilize Ukraine. It is important that local services not only respond quickly to attacks, but also care about the safety of the population, preventing misinformation about energy issues. The restoration of infrastructure and support for energy security remain priorities in these difficult times.
