Ukraine Intercepts 105 of 127 Russian Missiles and Drones in Overnight Assault.
Details of Russia's Overnight Attack on Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: In the early hours of February 23, Russia launched a combined assault on Ukraine, firing one 'Iskander-M' ballistic missile and 126 attack drones. The drone launches originated from multiple locations, including:
- Bryansk
- Kursk
- Oryol
- Primorsko-Akhtarsk
- Chauda
- Hvardiiske
Of the 126 drones launched, approximately 80 were Iranian-designed 'Shahed' models. By 08:00, Ukrainian air defense forces had successfully intercepted or neutralized 105 of the hostile drones. The ballistic missile and 20 attack drones managed to strike 11 different locations. This attack follows a massive strike Russia carried out against Ukraine the previous night. In the Kyiv region on the night of February 22, 17 people were injured. It has also been reported that one person was killed in Zaporizhzhia as a result of a Russian attack.
These events underscore the ongoing intensity of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine and highlight the critical role of air defense systems in protecting the country. The sustained use of drone and missile barrages represents a significant strain on Ukraine's defensive resources. The situation remains tense, and the actions of both sides in the coming days will be crucial to the conflict's trajectory in the region.
