Russia attacked Ukraine with ballistic missiles and 113 drones: results of the repulsion

According to Novyny.live: On January 14, Russian troops launched a combined attack on Ukraine, using ballistic missiles and strike unmanned aerial vehicles. The attack occurred on the night of January 14 and included the launch of three ballistic missiles of the 'Iskander-M' type. In addition, the enemy launched 113 strike UAVs, including drones of the Shahed type, 'Gerbera', and others. The launches of the UAVs were carried out from various directions, including Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea.

It is known that about 70 of these UAVs were of the 'Shahed' type. Ukraine's air defense managed to stop or suppress one ballistic missile and 89 enemy drones. However, despite these efforts, hits from two ballistic missiles and 24 UAVs were recorded at 13 locations. As a result of the drone attack, a fire broke out in Kyiv, and the building of the Polish consulate was damaged in Odesa.

Escalation of the Conflict

This attack is yet another stage in the escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has been ongoing for over a year. The use of ballistic missiles and drones indicates the continued strategic attempts by Russia to intensify pressure on Ukrainian cities, despite active air defense.

The events of January 14 once again confirm the importance of support from Ukraine's international partners in the context of ensuring security and protecting the country's critical infrastructure.
