Russia is preparing a law on neural networks: how the Kremlin is building a digital iron curtain.
According to inkorr.com: The Center for Countering Disinformation reported that the Russian authorities are developing a draft law to regulate neural networks. The State Duma has already defined the concept of 'artificial intelligence' and proposes it as an initiative to strengthen citizens' security.
'At the same time, discussions about conspiracy theories are starting on the internet: for example, some Russian officials claim that ChatGPT is transmitting data to the Pentagon. These manipulations aim to create a threat and justify new harsh restrictions,' the Center noted.
It is worth noting that this is actually another step towards tightening control. 'In fact, the Russian government has identified an area where there are currently no restrictions and aims to 'lay the stone' here too. This is a logical step after the already implemented restrictions: blocking calls on Telegram and WhatsApp, regular shutdowns of mobile internet, and more,' experts explained.
Russia is shaping a 'digital iron curtain'
The Center for Countering Disinformation believes that Russia is shaping a 'digital iron curtain'. 'Under the guise of 'personal data protection' and 'national security,' the Russian authorities are gradually restricting their citizens' access to information on the internet, creating conditions for a 'digital concentration camp,' experts emphasized.
Thus, the Russian authorities continue to tighten control over the internet and the digital environment, using security reasons to restrict access to information. The new draft law on neural networks only underscores the trend towards increasing censorship and control in the country.
