Confiscation of foreign companies' property
According to Novyny.live: The Russian authorities confiscated the property of foreign companies, transferring it to Russian enterprises. The decrees regulating this procedure were signed by Vladimir Putin on December 31, 2025, and came into effect on January 13, 2026.
Transfer of assets
According to the issued decrees, the assets of such foreign companies as:
- LLC 'Rockvul' and 68% of the shares of LLC 'Rockvul-Volga', which were transferred to LLC 'Development of Construction Assets'.
- LLC 'Ken-Pack' and LLC 'Ken-Pack Packaging Plant', which now belong to the Russian company 'SteelElement'.
It is important to note that LLC 'Development of Construction Assets' was registered in Moscow in the fall of 2025.
Thus, the confiscation of property of foreign companies occurred in the context of new economic measures implemented by the Russian government.
These actions may indicate an increase in control by the Russian authorities over the country's economy, as well as a rise in tension in relations with international investors.
The confiscation of foreign companies' assets may affect the investment climate in Russia and trigger new sanctions from Western countries, which could have serious consequences for the state's economy under already existing restrictions.
