Up to Eight Landmines Dropped Daily by Russian Shahed Drones Over Ukraine.
Russia Adopts New Remote Mining Tactics
According to Novyny.live: Russian forces have introduced a new approach to remote landmine deployment using Shahed attack drones, creating serious risks for civilians. These unmanned aerial vehicles allow enemy troops to scatter mines over long distances, making it far harder for local residents to detect the danger.
Reports indicate that up to eight mines are being dropped from Shahed drones every day. This activity has been observed roughly 50 kilometers from the state border, highlighting the growing threat in frontier areas. Over the course of a single week, the enemy army launched more than three thousand drones, signaling a major escalation in these operations.
Calls for Vigilance
Experts are urging the public to stay cautious, as approaching potential minefields could be deadly.
“It is strictly forbidden to go near them on foot or by car. As always, I ask you to be sure to explain this to children,” said Serhii Beskrestnov. These warnings underscore the need for heightened awareness among communities facing this evolving risk.
The use of drones for remote mining reflects a shift in modern warfare tactics. It also shows how Russian forces are adapting to new technologies and methods that threaten civilian safety. Ensuring that information about these hazards reaches people in border regions is critical to reducing the risk to their lives.
