Russia may suspend fighting near the Zaporizhzhia NPP: when will repairs begin.
According to inkorr.com: The Russian company 'Rosatom' plans to temporarily cease hostilities around the Zaporizhzhia NPP to carry out repairs on power transmission lines on October 17. This was reported by the head of the company, Alexei Likhachev, referring to data from Russian media.
Ukrainian officials denied allegations of delays in repairs on their part. They confirmed their readiness to conduct repair work and intend to restore power supply to the station. Currently, the Zaporizhzhia NPP is operating on diesel generators, as the last external power supply was disconnected on September 23.
'This region is in a combat zone, so we must be very cautious in approaching this complex issue. Repairs to the power transmission lines need to be carried out from both sides of the front, at a distance from the facility itself,' emphasized IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
Thus, 'Rosatom' intends to suspend hostilities to repair the power transmission lines near the Zaporizhzhia NPP, while Ukrainian authorities assure their readiness to restore power supply. This situation highlights the importance of ensuring safety and stability at the facility, as the energy infrastructure remains under threat due to military actions.
