Russia Ranks as World's Least Peaceful Nation in Global Index.
Russia's Position in the Global Peace Index
According to UATV: Russia has been ranked 163rd out of 163 nations in the latest Global Peace Index, placing it at the very bottom of the list. This represents a decline of two positions from the previous year. The ranking, which assesses the state of peace across the globe, highlights the severe levels of violence and instability within the country.
Comparison with Other Nations
Only three countries were ranked directly above Russia: Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Yemen. Despite facing significant internal conflicts and challenges of their own, these nations received higher peace scores than Russia. This underscores the profound difficulties Russia currently faces on the world stage.
Compounding these issues, forecasts predict that Russia's GDP will fall to its lowest level in years by the end of 2025. This economic downturn further emphasizes the negative trends affecting the nation and its deteriorating global standing.
Russia's declining score in the Global Peace Index reflects not only its domestic troubles but also its growing international isolation. The index, compiled by the Institute for Economics and Peace, is a widely recognized benchmark. In the context of the global conflicts and economic instability Russia is experiencing, this ranking serves as a significant indicator of its shifting international image and influence.
The fact that other nations with ongoing conflicts achieved better scores points to a critical situation within Russia. It suggests the country faces mounting difficulties in managing both its internal crises and external pressures.
