Russians storm Pokrovsk: 56 combat clashes in a day on the front

According to FREEДOM:

Situation on the front

As of 16:00 on the day, there have been 56 combat clashes on the front. The highest activity was observed in the Pokrovsk and Lyman directions, while there was relative calm only in the Hulyaipole direction. This was reported by FREEДOM, citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

Since the beginning of the day, a total of 56 battles have been recorded along the entire front line. The largest number — 23 — took place in the Pokrovsk direction, while in the Lyman direction, the enemy attempted to break through 17 times in the area of seven populated points.

Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the situation on the front is under control. Ukrainian defenders in the Kupiansk direction have identified and eliminated 30 Russian saboteurs over two days, while in the Sumy region, the AFU are gradually pushing the enemy back.

“The Pokrovsk direction is the most serious today. The enemy's accumulation and concentration there is up to 100 thousand — this is the situation reported in the morning. Russians are preparing offensive actions in any case. It is important that we know this and control it. In the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, we are carrying out active actions, and it is not easy for the enemy there today,” said President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

Situation in southern Ukraine

In the south of the country, Russian troops continue to work on creating a foothold on the right bank of the Kherson region. Experts believe that the RF troops are trying to cut logistics in Kherson and create conditions for capturing the islands near the city. There is also information about the redeployment of troops to Zaporizhzhia, which may indicate the occupiers' intention to move forward in a similar scenario as it was earlier in Sumy.

“Moving closer to the city, aiming it with barrel artillery, targeting it with FPV drones. So, if in Kherson FPV drones have been operating on the city for quite some time, terrorizing local residents, the strikes by FPV drones in Zaporizhzhia are not as massive. The enemy wishes to make them more massive, so they will try to move forward,” said military analyst Denis Popovich.

Assistance from America

Experts believe that American missiles could significantly strengthen the positions of the Ukrainian army on the battlefield and reduce the number of shellings of peaceful cities. The US State Department has approved the sale of more than 3000 extended range air munitions to Ukraine, with deliveries expected to begin this year. This will allow the Ukrainian army to hit important targets on Russian territory.

“450 kilometers is within range not only of the airfields of the Russian Aerospace Forces but, first of all, of the defense industries and oil refining complex,” said military-political analyst Dmytro Snegiryov.

Casualties of the Russian army

Since the beginning of the full-scale aggression, Russian army losses have exceeded 1 million 80 thousand soldiers. Over the past day, 850 aggressors have been eliminated. The General Staff of the AFU reports that defense forces have succeeded in destroying four Russian tanks and six armored fighting vehicles, as well as incapacitating more than 60 artillery systems of the RF army and over 100 units of automotive equipment.

The current situation on the front remains tense, with active combat actions in several areas. Continued supply of weapons from the West, especially from the US, may play a crucial role in supporting the Ukrainian defense and stability in the region. At the same time, experts continue to monitor events in the south, where Russian troops are trying to take control of strategic territories.
