Euro-Atlantic leaders demand action from Russia: what has changed in the negotiation process.
According to ТСН: Russia must confirm its seriousness and readiness for negotiations by halting hostilities. This position was expressed by European leaders after recent diplomatic contacts aimed at peaceful resolution.
According to reports, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni along with other European leaders had a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump, which took place after their meeting in Florida.
Discussion of Key Issues
During the conversation, the participants heard the opinions of Zelensky and Trump, as well as the results of their meeting dedicated to paths for peaceful resolution. Special attention was focused on the current state of security guarantees for Ukraine and outstanding issues.
Giorgia Meloni once again emphasized the importance of maintaining unity among partners at this time when the negotiation process shows signs of progress. Representatives of the US, Europe, and Ukraine highlighted the need for coordinated actions on issues concerning the key interests of Ukraine and its allies.
“Ultimately, the parties agreed that it is Russia that must demonstrate responsibility and openness to negotiations by confirming real readiness to cease hostilities,” the website of the Italian Council of Ministers states.
Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen mentioned “moderate progress” that has been achieved in negotiations regarding Ukraine.
It is also worth noting that Zelensky and Trump had a phone conversation with European leaders.
