Russia Disconnects Internet from the World from 2026: What Awaits Users.
According to inkorr.com: The Government of the Russian Federation has adopted a new decree which, in fact, strengthens censorship and isolates citizens from international networks. From March 1, 2026, 'Roskomnadzor' will receive additional powers to block websites and even disconnect the Russian internet from the global network.
Purpose of the Kremlin's Actions
Experts believe that the true aim of these steps is to create a closed network that the authorities can manage and control the information that flows to the population. This will allow the government to reduce the influence of external sources on Russians and use the internet as a tool for internal propaganda and control.
The Russian government is creating an isolated 'sovereign' internet that will increase its power over the population and control the information space of the country.
These measures emphasize the Kremlin's desire to limit citizens' access to information and strengthen control over the media space. The establishment of a 'sovereign' internet could significantly change the way Russians communicate and obtain information, creating new challenges for freedom of speech and the exchange of opinions.
