Russia is sending troops to the Kursk region that it wanted to send to the front in Ukraine - expert.
According to military analyst Oleksiy Hetman, Russia is constantly losing military personnel in the war, but with the start of the operation in the Kursk region, it has lost the opportunity to replenish its units in Ukraine. Some Russian military personnel are forced to be in the Kursk region and not on the front line in Ukraine. The situation with sending Russian conscripts to participate in combat operations is politically dangerous for Putin. Hetman noted that after the second Chechen war, a committee of soldiers' mothers was formed, which influenced the policy of the Russian Federation. Now, as many Russian military personnel are captured or suffer losses, this committee is returning to active work. The demand for troops for the Kursk region is leading to the redeployment of troops from the eastern front. Russia planned to increase its grouping in the region to almost a million military personnel, but for this, it needs to find about 100 thousand additional troops, for which it does not have sufficient reserves. Therefore, it is withdrawing troops from the front line and transferring them to the Kursk region. The Kursk region is a gray zone where hostilities are taking place.
