Mobile Internet During Alerts: Experts Explain Reasons for Disconnections

According to inkorr.com: Ukrainian specialists explained why mobile internet may be disconnected during air alerts. An expert from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that this may be necessary if the enemy uses drones that operate on foreign SIM cards for communication and passing information about the situation.

Bill and Security Measures

The main essence of the bill currently being considered in Ukraine is the possibility of limiting access to mobile internet during alerts. This could be critically important for ensuring safety in situations where mass use of drones is expected. Experts also emphasized the possibility of reducing data transfer speeds for Ukrainian drones if necessary.

'It may be advisable to reduce internet speed to limit, for example, the transmission of information to the FPV drone camera. Technically, this is possible. And if tomorrow Russians start launching drones with Ukrainian cards en masse, then it really would make sense,' emphasized the expert.

Incidents with Russian Drones

The specialist also commented on the case when Russian drones reached Polish territory, noting that Ukrainian electronic warfare means did not detect any drone activity. 'Everything was aimed at the drones reaching Poland,' the expert added.

Experts believe that disconnecting mobile internet during alerts could be a justified security measure, as the enemy may use drones connected to foreign SIM cards to gather and transmit information. This measure is discussed in the bill as one of the possible ways to enhance the country's security amidst technical threats.

Security issues during military conflict gain special relevance. Disconnecting mobile internet can not only complicate the enemy's activities but also significantly increase the chances of safe military operations. It is expected that discussions on the bill will continue, and its implementation may happen soon.
