According to UATV: According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian forces sustained significant losses on February 1, 2023, with 1,090 personnel killed. Ukrainian defenders destroyed 6 Russian tanks and more than 60 units of enemy automotive equipment. These figures, provided by Ukrainian military sources, indicate continued intense combat and a rising toll on Russian forces.
Since the full-scale invasion began on February 24, 2022, the total combat losses for Russian troops are estimated at approximately 1,240,680 personnel. Russian equipment losses are also substantial:
- 11,625 tanks destroyed,
- 23,980 armored combat vehicles,
- 36,777 artillery systems,
- 435 aircraft and 347 helicopters.
In a separate development, the body of Clinton Nyapara Mogesi, a citizen of the Republic of Kenya, was reportedly discovered on positions held by Russian occupation forces. The ongoing war has drawn in foreign nationals, with some fighting as volunteers or mercenaries on both sides.
