Russia no longer has illusions about Trump - The Times.
Moscow has lost faith in Trump
Russian media feel disappointed in relations with the US leader, as hopes for better relations with Washington have not materialized. Ukraine has become the main topic for the American president.
Eight years ago, Moscow welcomed Donald Trump as president of the United States with joy, and Russian media raised glasses at parties.
But the euphoria quickly faded. Instead of improving relations with Russia, Trump imposed sanctions and provided military aid to Ukraine. This was a major disappointment for Moscow. According to Re.Telegraph, even supporters of a tough policy do not expect a quick restoration of relations with the US, but believe that international turbulence may prove beneficial for Russia.
Tatyana Stanovaya, founder of the political analysis group R.Politik, adds that regardless of how events unfold, the world will undergo significant changes that open new opportunities for Russia to advance its interests.
