The Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russia has lost its naval base in the Mediterranean Sea. However, it continues to try to maintain its presence there. In particular, the Russian military conducts exercises, although this is an effective way to destabilize the situation in the region. In support of its activities, Russia uses friendly regimes in Africa and ports for bunkering. However, it no longer has a permanent base in the Mediterranean Sea. According to a spokesperson, for Russia the situation has changed compared to what it had in Syria. Nevertheless, Russia still has interests in the region and Africa and will periodically be found there. This strategy may negatively impact stability in the Mediterranean Sea and alter the geopolitical situation in the region.
