Russia recruits 12 thousand North Koreans for drone production: details from the GUR.
Russian plans to recruit workers from North Korea in Tatarstan
According to inkorr.com: By 2025, it is planned to attract about 12 thousand workers from North Korea to Tatarstan. This concerns enterprises in the special economic zone 'Alabuga', as reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to intelligence, strike drones Shahed/Geran are produced in the territory of 'Alabuga', which are used by Russian troops in the conflict against Ukraine. Due to a labor shortage, Russian authorities intend to attract North Koreans to perform these tasks.
Meeting of Russian officials with the North Korean company
According to intelligence, Russian officials held negotiations with representatives of the Jihyang Technology Trade Company from North Korea, which deals with sending labor abroad. The meeting discussed the possibility of attracting North Korean workers for drone production in Russia.
Working conditions for North Korean workers
North Koreans who agree to work in Russia are promised a salary of about 2.5 dollars per hour. The working day will last at least 12 hours, however, according to intelligence information, these conditions may raise concerns due to potential labor exploitation.
The Main Directorate of Intelligence claims that cooperation between Russia and North Korea in employment underscores the support for the war against Ukraine and the joint strategic course of both countries.

Thus, Russia is actively preparing to attract workers from North Korea to work in 'Alabuga', where drones for military purposes are produced. Under the terms set for North Koreans, the salary is lower than the market rate, raising concerns about the rights of migrant workers. This cooperation between the two countries could significantly impact military actions in Ukraine and escalate the situation in the region.
