Massive missile strike on Ukraine
On the night of August 30, Russian troops launched a large-scale strike on Ukraine, using drones and various missiles. This was reported by the Command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informing about numerous missile launches.
Details of the attack
In particular, the Russian army launched 582 units of aerial threats:
- 537 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and imitation drones;
- 8 ballistic missiles 'Iskander-M'/KN-23;
- 37 cruise/aviation missiles of various types, including X-101, 'Kalibr' and others.
“The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” reported the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Results of repelling the attack
As of 09:00, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed or suppressed 548 aerial targets:
- 510 enemy UAVs of the Shahed type;
- 6 ballistic missiles 'Iskander-M';
- 32 cruise/aviation missiles of various types.
There were also recorded hits of five missiles and 24 strike UAVs at seven locations, while the debris of downed targets fell on 21 locations.
Combined strike on the regions
Furthermore, Russia also carried out a combined strike on Dnipro and the Dnipropetrovsk region, launching drones and missiles.
This attack confirms the continuation of the escalation of the conflict in the region and demonstrates Ukraine's ability to effectively counter aerial threats. The defense forces continue to work on protecting the airspace, responding to such challenges. In this situation, international support and the development of new defense strategies remain important.
