Shelling in the Donetsk Region on January 25

According to UATV: Russian military forces launched 1,646 attacks across the Donetsk region over a 24-hour period on January 25, wounding two children. The assault inflicted severe consequences on the civilian population, particularly in the city of Kramatorsk and surrounding settlements. This relentless bombardment is part of a wider pattern of attacks on Ukraine's eastern front.

Affected Cities

The shelling targeted several urban centers, including:

  • Kramatorsk
  • Sloviansk
  • Mykolaivka

In Kramatorsk and its vicinity, the attacks damaged seven private homes. The two injured children, born in 2009 and 2010, sustained wounds as a direct result of the hostile actions.

Due to the escalating violence, 84 people, 25 of whom were children, were evacuated from areas near the front line. This evacuation underscores the critical humanitarian situation in a region where constant shelling endangers the lives and health of civilians. The Donetsk region has endured some of the war's most intense fighting since the full-scale invasion began.

The situation in Donetsk remains highly tense, with regular artillery strikes making daily life extremely difficult for local residents. Despite evacuation efforts, many people remain in perilous conditions, highlighting the urgent need for international attention to the humanitarian crisis. As the conflict grinds on, its devastating consequences continue to be felt most acutely by non-combatants, with children increasingly becoming victims of the violence.
