During negotiations aimed at achieving peace, involving the presidents of Ukraine, the USA, and European leaders, Moscow continued its actions that contradict peace efforts - launching new strikes and causing destruction. This was stated today, August 19, by Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sibiga on social media, reported FREEДОМ.
'Over the night, Russia launched 270 drones, as well as ballistic and cruise missiles at Ukrainian territory. Energy infrastructure has been damaged, and there are casualties among the civilian population. This once again demonstrates how crucial it is to put an end to the killings, achieve a lasting peace, and ensure reliable security guarantees,' noted the minister.
Sibiga emphasized that in this regard, the upcoming meeting of the leaders of Ukraine, the USA, and Russia could become a breakthrough on the path to peace.
'We are grateful to the United States and President Trump for all peacekeeping efforts,' he added.
It is worth noting that overnight today, August 19, Russia attacked Ukraine with 280 means of air strikes. Among them were 270 strike drones of the Shahed type and imitation drones, five ballistic missiles, and five cruise missiles of the X-101 type.
