According to ТСН: In November, in the Pokrovskyi district of Donetsk region, Russian occupiers captured a Ukrainian soldier. The man was beaten with a rifle butt and later shot dead.
The Donetsk regional prosecutor's office reported this.
During the assault on positions near the village of Hnativka, the Russian invaders surrounded and captured the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter. One of them tied his hands, while another repeatedly hit him on the head with a rifle butt. When the unarmed soldier stopped responding, he was shot.
The prosecutor's office reminded that the intentional killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is considered a serious international crime.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding the commission of a war crime that resulted in the death of a person. Urgent investigative actions are being conducted to establish all the circumstances of the event and the specific individuals involved in this crime.
Moreover, the Zaporizhzhia regional prosecutor's office confirmed that in the morning of November 27, near Huliaipole, Russian soldiers shot five unarmed Ukrainian defenders who were also in captivity. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding the intentional murder and violation of the laws and customs of war.
