On the night of August 30, the Russian army attacked Zaporizhzhia, delivering at least 12 strikes. As a result of the shelling, private houses, multi-story buildings, and enterprises were damaged. There are recorded casualties. Local residents shared their impressions with journalists from the FREEДОМ channel.

Consequences of the shelling

One of the drone strikes hit a five-story residential building, resulting in the destruction of apartments on several floors.

'At the first hour of the night, I heard the buzz and fly of the 'Shahed' drones. One after the other. Shooting began. I took my documents and went to hide in the bathroom. As soon as I entered the room, I heard the sound of an explosion. Something fell on the roof. There were two 'hits'. Everything crumbled, the windows in the apartment were blown out,' said a resident of Zaporizhzhia, Anna.

Anna also noted that representatives of the city council have already recorded the damages. Now the residents of the affected building are waiting for the police, who are to document all the damages.

Local residents report that rescuers struggled for a long time with the fire on the upper floors. Under the rubble of the shelled five-story building, they managed to rescue several people.

Details of the attack

According to reports, on the night of August 30, Russian occupation forces delivered a combined strike on Zaporizhzhia. As a result of the attack, one man was killed, and 24 people were injured, including three children.

This nighttime attack continues to indicate the escalation of the conflict in the region, which inflicts tremendous damage on civilian objects and people’s lives. Local authorities are working on recovery, and the country remains vigilant ahead of new challenges.
