Ukrainian slalom skier Alsu Minazova, who participated in propaganda events with Sergey Lavrov, received 'neutral status' from the International Canoe Federation. This was reported by the Base of Ukrainian sports.

It is noted that Minazova also participated in propaganda events alongside the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation Radiy Khabirov.

Minazova also congratulates Khabirov on his birthday.

'Lavrov has been sanctioned by Australia, Switzerland, New Zealand, Canada, the EU, Ukraine, the USA, Japan, and the UK for supporting the war against Ukraine. Khabirov has been sanctioned by Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the EU, Ukraine, the USA, and the UK for supporting Russian aggression against Ukraine,' reads the investigation by the Base of Ukrainian sports.

Minazova also liked a post on Instagram featuring Putin.

President of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Johan Eliasch supported the format of returning Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate under 'neutral' status. He stated this in an interview with Radiosporten.

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russians and Belarusians have been banned from all competitions under FIS - including cross-country skiing, snowboarding, ski jumping, and other disciplines. Since then, FIS has initiated a review of the admission of athletes from these countries, but has maintained sanctions in effect, including in the 2024/25 season.

Eliasch's statement comes against the backdrop of the election campaign - he is a candidate for the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and after his current term, Thomas Bach will become president.

Russians and Belarusians remain banned from competitions until the 2024/25 season. Currently, the qualifying cycle for the 2026 Winter Games is ongoing in FIS disciplines, so the banned athletes are missing the first official year of competitions.

World Aquatics (International Swimming Federation) allowed Russian swimmer Yevgeniya Chikunova to participate, who expressed support for Vladimir Putin and Russian aggression against Ukraine on social media. This is reported by Russian media. Chikunova also expressed her support for the war and Putin in Instagram alongside fellow swimmer and war supporter Yevgeny Rylov.

Also, Olympic champion in taekwondo Maxim Kramtsov held a tournament to which occupiers brought Ukrainian children from the occupied part of the Donetsk region. This is reported by Watchers.
