Odesa Hit by Nighttime Russian Drone Assault: Buildings Damaged, Power Out, and Injuries Reported.
Aftermath of Explosions in Odesa
According to Novyny.live: A nighttime attack by Russian drones triggered explosions in Odesa, damaging residential buildings, garages, and businesses, and leaving several people wounded. The assault inflicted severe damage on the city's infrastructure.
Among the structures damaged were:
- A 25-story residential building
- Warehouse facilities
- A vehicle service station
- Several retail stores
In one garage cooperative, multiple bays were hit and several cars were destroyed. Two security guards were hospitalized with injuries sustained during the attack.
"They already removed shrapnel from one guard's feet, and now he needs another operation near his knee. He also has head burns. It's all very difficult," said one of the victims, Olga.
The explosions also damaged energy infrastructure, cutting power to parts of the city.
"You can see everything—this is our office. Documents, safes, everything burned. Nothing is left. The overpass collapsed, garages were hit," added Olga, describing the scene.
Another witness, Roman, emphasized:
"The main thing is that the guards survived. They were injured, they are in the hospital, but the main thing is they are alive."
This attack has left a profound mark on local residents, who now face the consequences of the destruction. The damage to the parking lot and other facilities underscores the severity of the situation and the urgent need for infrastructure repairs. Odesa, a historic port city on the Black Sea, has been a frequent target since the full-scale invasion began.
The strike on Odesa is further evidence of the escalating conflict in the region and the impact of military actions on civilians. Government and local authorities will likely be forced to take additional measures to ensure security and restore damaged infrastructure. These events highlight the critical importance of continued international support for Ukraine amid the ongoing armed conflict.
