Russia broke through near Pokrovsk: how the Armed Forces of Ukraine stopped the enemy's advance

According to FREEДOM: In the realities of the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day, Russian troops decided to pressure Ukraine in the Pokrovsk area. However, the Ukrainian forces defended their positions and did not allow the Russians to break through. This was reported today, August 25, by the General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Malomuzh on the FREEdom television channel.

'The enemy tried to carry out several strategic offensive operations in the Pokrovsk area before the negotiation process, before Independence Day. This was near the city itself, in the direction of Dobropillia, Kostiantynivka, from the south. The four strategic directions were reinforced with new units of the Russian Federation,' he said.

The analyst noted that the Russian army tested a new tactic of warfare in the Pokrovsk direction. 'The tactic of infiltration, breakthrough groups at the level of special forces, sabotage and line units. The enemy managed to advance further in Dobropillia in the Donetsk region. However, the Defense Forces of Ukraine quickly dealt with the situation and conducted a series of clean-ups,' added Malomuzh.

'The enemy is trying to reinforce this bridgehead with special forces and paratroopers. They pushed the enemy back and cut off this protrusion, which was a breakthrough in Dobropillia, aimed at the Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka highway. The Armed Forces conducted neutralization operations and stabilized the situation,' noted the military expert.

The general emphasized that Russia no longer claims certain regions but is trying to gain control over the Donetsk region. Unfortunately, fighting on the front continues, and the enemy is using heavy weapons.
