The head coach of the Kazakhstan national team, Russian Stanislav Cherchesov, was fined for joking about the Kazakh language. This was announced by the head of the Kazakhstan Football Federation Adilet Barmenkulov.

After losing to Slovenia in the Nations League match (0:1), Cherchesov responded to a journalist's question asked in Kazakh by asking, 'Are you speaking French now?' Kazakh fans were outraged by the coach's behavior.

'Cherchesov's humor, of course, goes beyond the bounds. I personally spoke to him, explained the relevance and priority of the state language. We had a conversation with him, work. He was fined,' Barmenkulov said.

The Kazakhstan Football Federation also noted that the fine would amount to 738,400 tenge (about $1500).

Armwrestling coach arrested for indecent acts with children

An armwrestling coach was arrested in Shatura, Moscow Region (Russian Federation) on suspicion of committing indecent acts with six minors.

The suspect is 35 years old. According to the investigation, from December 2019 to September 2024, the man committed indecent acts without the use of violence against six children, and engaged in sexual intercourse with one girl.
