Fine for Royal Mail
Royal Mail has been fined £21 million by the regulator after nearly a quarter of first-class letters were delivered late. According to the investigation, Ofcom found that Royal Mail failed to meet its targets for both first and second-class mail delivery. The postal service delivered only 77% of first-class letters on time and 92.5% of second-class letters.“Almost a quarter of first-class letters that were supposed to be delivered on time were delayed,” the agency noted. The situation raised concerns about customer service quality. Delivery issues with letters have led to critical remarks from consumers and regulatory bodies. Royal Mail, as one of the largest postal carriers, now faces serious challenges to restore the trust of its customers and ensure stable service operation.
