Call up to the England National Team
According to The Sun: Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been called up to the England national team for the first time in almost seven years.
The 29-year-old AC Milan midfielder has been included in the squad by manager Thomas Tuchel, after Adam Worthon was injured during Crystal Palace's game against Aston Villa over the weekend.
GettyCrystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner noted after the game that Worthon is unlikely to join the national team due to adductor problems.
Loftus-Cheek last played for the national team in November 2018 when he came on as a substitute in a friendly match against the USA.
Although he was called up to the squad in March 2019, he later declined to participate.
In his career, Loftus-Cheek has made 10 appearances for the national team and was part of the 2018 World Cup squad, where he played four games and helped England reach the semifinals.
This call-up by the new coach, Thomas Tuchel, marks the first for Loftus-Cheek, as they previously played together at Chelsea.
Loftus-Cheek played 46 games for the 'Blues' under Tuchel, scored one goal and provided five assists.
He will join the national team, which will compete against Andorra and Serbia in World Cup qualifying matches during the international break.
