Vyshchetarasivka under daily drone strikes: how the village lives 10 km from Enerhodar.
According to ТСН: The village of Vyshchetarasivka, located on the banks of the former Kakhovka reservoir in Dnipropetrovsk region, has been enduring daily shelling for almost four years. People here live without water and communication, but despite this, they refuse to leave their homes.
Life under FPV strikes
Vyshchetarasivka today looks devastated: the streets are empty, and the sounds of engines can be heard in the sky constantly. Local residents have learned to distinguish the calibers of guns by sound better than professional military personnel. Currently, the greatest fear is caused not only by Grads but also by drones that try to destroy all living beings.
'Shelling, drones every day. It says here: three drones are flying again. One just broke that house. This is how we live. We shake, we hide in the cellar. At night today, 'Grads' were firing, we also ran away,'
local resident Olena recounts.
Hunting for people: drones with anti-tank mines
Going out for bread is always a big risk. Ms. Natalia and Lyudmila try to settle their affairs in a few hours while the sky is 'quiet'. The women warn: drones react to any movement.
'And they also chase these scooters, and the cars. Here you are standing, so brave... Put your car under the trees, because now three seconds — and they fly very fast. Now it will cover you, and you won't have time to run,'
the women tell the journalists.
The occupiers have come up with a new cruel 'game': attaching anti-tank mines to small drones. 'This is a Shahed, we are not afraid of it. We are afraid of the drones. They are currently releasing small 'airplanes', attaching an anti-tank mine — that's 9 kilograms of TNT',
local resident Oleksandr explains.
Post office as the last link to the world
Despite the fact that every second house in the village is damaged and the population has halved, about a thousand people still live here, including children. The village survives thanks to the efforts of the brave.
Natalia Ryadinska runs the local post office. Recently, her house was destroyed: five drones struck in one day. Only the walls remain of the home, and from the car — 'potholes'. But the woman continues to fulfill her duties.
'We have a lot of pensioners left. If we do not serve them, they will be left with nothing at all. Packages are our link to the world. Girls like: in some bulletproof vest — and went to the post office,'
Ms. Natalia recounts.
The post office for Vyshchetarasivka is the only place where cash can be withdrawn, groceries can be bought, or letters can be sent to relatives.
Life without water and pharmacies
The situation in the village is critical: there has been no water for six months due to damaged networks that cannot be restored under shelling. This year, the last pharmacy closed. The social minibus has stopped its route because the road out is constantly attacked by the enemy's 'birds'.
'Power supply is mainly suffering, then communication is absent. The school operates on remote learning — this is a huge problem for children and parents,'
acting village head Marina Petrovskaya notes.
Despite the constant terror, a thousand residents of Vyshchetarasivka cling to their land. They live in damaged houses, hide in cellars, but declare: 'We will fight to the last.'

The problems faced by the residents of Vyshchetarasivka are a consequence of the ongoing military conflict in the region. Under continuous attacks and lack of basic resources, their resilience and determination are impressive. This shows how important it is to maintain a connection to the world even in the most difficult conditions. Understanding these difficulties may encourage society to provide the necessary support to assist people in this dire situation.
