According to Novyny.live: Donetsk's Shakhtar Donetsk has secured the services of former Ukraine international defender Oleksandr Karavaev as a free agent. The agreement with the 34-year-old runs through June 30, 2028. A product of Shakhtar's youth system, Karavaev played for the club's academy, reserve side, and Shakhtar-3 from 2005 to 2011.
Over his career, Karavaev also featured on loan for Sevastopol and Zorya before moving to Turkish side Fenerbahce. In 2019, he joined Dynamo Kyiv, spending seven seasons there and becoming a key figure. In total, Karavaev has made 455 official appearances, scoring 57 goals and providing 65 assists.
National Team Debut and Achievements
Oleksandr Karavaev made his debut for the Ukrainian national team in 2015, earning 50 caps, with 3 goals and 13 assists. During his time with Dynamo, he won the Ukrainian Premier League twice, the Ukrainian Cup three times, and the Ukrainian Super Cup twice.
