China and the USA were unable to find a common position regarding the cessation of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
This was reported by US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan after meeting with PRC leader Xi Jinping on August 29.
During the meeting, the situation in the Taiwan Strait, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and events in the South China Sea were discussed.
After the conversation with the Chinese side, Sullivan noted that Ukraine became a separate topic.
"We did not reach a specific diplomatic plan, mainly because the USA strictly adheres to the principle: "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine", said Sullivan.
Recall, the USA and China discussed possible talks between Presidents Biden and Xi.
