Attack on the Oil Terminal

According to UATV: On March 29, drones operated by the 'Alpha' Special Operations Center of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) struck an oil terminal at the Ust-Luga port in Russia’s Leningrad region, causing significant damage and sparking a fire. This incident is part of the SBU’s broader campaign to undermine the enemy’s financial resources and logistical capabilities.

Notably, the SBU has targeted Russian oil infrastructure four times in the past week alone. The day before, on March 28, a separate attack hit the 'Yaroslavsky' oil refinery in the Yaroslavl region. These operations highlight an escalation in Ukrainian intelligence activities in response to ongoing Russian aggression.

The SBU continues its systematic work to reduce the enemy’s financial and logistical capabilities.

These remarks underscore the Ukrainian forces’ intent to cripple critical infrastructure, which could directly impact the adversary’s military effectiveness.

SBU’s Strategic Approach

Collaboration between the SBU, the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR), the Special Operations Forces (SSO), the State Border Guard Service (SBS), and the State Customs Service (GPSU) is crucial for executing such missions, enabling coordinated efforts across agencies to achieve shared objectives. The strikes on oil infrastructure reflect the SBU’s strategic focus within the broader context of the war.

These recent attacks on Russia’s oil infrastructure underscore the escalating conflict and the growing resolve of Ukrainian forces to counter aggression. By weakening the enemy’s financial capacity, these operations may significantly hinder its ability to sustain military operations, while also affecting regional stability. The targeted destruction of key infrastructure assets demonstrates the SBU’s commitment to achieving strategic wartime goals.
