Price Increase on Branded Products
According to The Sun: According to a conducted analysis, prices for branded food products have increased on average ten times more over the last 20 years compared to private label goods. For example, the cost of a can of Heinz beans has risen from 44 pence in 2005 to £1.40, which is more than a tripling of the price.
Comparison with Other Brands
At the same time, a similar product from Marks & Spencer has only increased by 18 percent - from 38 pence.
“Prices for branded products are rising faster than for private labels.”
Data shows a clear trend that raises concern among consumers. Consumer behavior may change as shoppers look for alternatives to save money. In times of economic uncertainty, it is important to consider how product choices will affect the family budget.
